Jesse Rice
Jesse Rice is a multi-platinum selling and award-winning singer-songwriter and producer in Nashville, TN. Originally from low-country South Carolina, Rice moved to Nashville in 2002, where he began working for EMI Music Publishing. Since 2007, Rice has been a staff songwriter at Artist Revolution Publishing, joining forces with ole in June 2014.
In the fall of 2012 he achieved his first #1 hit as a songwriter, with the song "Cruise" by Florida- Georgia Line. "Cruise" then went on to become the longest-running #1 country music song of all time, spending an unprecedented 27 weeks at the top of the Billboard charts. To date, "Cruise" has sold almost 7 million downloads, making it the largest selling downloaded song in country music history.
In addition, "Cruise" was remixed and re-released on the pop charts by the rap artist Nelly, going on to spend a crossover -record 42 weeks in the Top-10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and reaching a peak of #4 in August 2013. "Cruise" was honored as 2013 CMA, AMA, and ACA Single Of The Year and won 2014 Billboard Top Country Song Of The Year and also Song Of The Year at the 2013 SESAC Awards.
In addition to Florida Georgia Line and Nelly, Rice's songs have been recorded by artists such as Colt Ford, Chase Rice, and Kristian Bush of the duo Sugarland.
As an artist Rice also tours around the South playing his own shows, promoting his songs from THE PIRATE SESSIONS, whose record debuted in the Top 20 on the iTunes Country Album Charts upon release. The Pirate Sessions are a collection of beach country rock songs that feature artists such as Florida- Georgia Line, Chase Rice, Love & Theft and Michael Ray. Rice is currently recording Pirate Sessions III, due out in summer of 2014.
