Cassio Monroe

Things have moved fast for duo Cassio Monroe, and they would not have it any other way.

“We met up on a Monday with the idea, were immediately on the same page, nailed down the direction of our sound, wrote several choruses, and a day later were asked to sit in at a writers night,” recalls Tripp Weir of the duo. “There was immediate response, which of course added fuel to the fire.”

Only a few months later Cassio Mornoe were packing local clubs in Nashville, TN. In just over a year, Cassio Monroe has scored over a half dozen major TV placements on networks such as ABC, E!, Nickelodeon, and the NFL Network. In early January of 2013, as reported on Billboard.com, Cassio Monroe entered a deal with HitShop Records / Warner Music Nashville.

Both Weir and Jeff Garrison were past solo artists, but together as a duo things just clicked. Weir, who raps and sings on stage, is refreshed by the creative partnership. “To finally feel like I’m being myself with my music is a very liberating experience.”

Garrison notes, “as long as we’re entertaining people in our own way, we’ll keep doing what we’re doing.” Weir adds, “one of the reasons I started making music in the first place was because it made me move, made me dance.” One thing is certain: If Cassio Monroe’s fast pace continues, a lot more people will be dancing!
